Shankar Palla Recipe

Sweet Fried Dough

In a shallow pan or bowl, mix by hand until very smooth (about 5 minutes):
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Add:
2 cups all-purpose flour
Use enough flour to make a very stiff dough, similar to rolled cookie dough. Roll out one-half of the dough at a time into a 12" circle. Cut into 1" diamonds.
Deep-fry the pieces of dough in small batches (6-8) in a deep fryer or wok until browned.
Serve with Dosa Chutney
