Spicy Snack Mix Recipe

Seasoned Puffed Rice with Peanuts and Roasted Chickpeas

In a large saucepan, heat:
2 1/2 TBS vegetable oil
pinch hing
1/2 teaspoon cumin/mustard/sesame seed mixture
When the seeds pop, add and roast in the pan:
1/4 cup raw peanuts
Next, add:
2 1/2 TBS roasted Indian chickpeas
1 TBS fresh coriander leaves (cilantro), chopped
Remove from the heat, and add:
2-3 Indian bay leaves
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin/coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 tespoon hot red pepper powder
1/4 teaspoon garam masala
Now add:
2 1/2 - 3 cups puffed rice 1 teaspoon salt
Mix very well and adjust spices to taste. You may add a small amount of popped popcorn, if you wish.
